Fettuccine Alfredo

1/2 cup butter
2 cups heavy cream (or 1 cup cream,1 cup 1/2 and 1/2)
3/4 cups parmesan cheese
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 oz cream cheese
Fettuccine noodles

Combine butter, cream, parmesan cheese and garlic powder in saucepan. Stirring constantly, cook on medium high until butter and cheese are melted.  Turn heat to medium-low and cook for 40 plus minutes, stirring occasionally so the bottom doesn't burn.  Add cream cheese and cook until well blended. If sauce is too thick just add milk a little at a time until you reach desired consistency.
Serve with garlic or cheese bread over noodles.
